At that moment he saw small, brown shell
shape coming up to the line. (p.41)
Today I read “The Hare and the Tortoise”, a
book in the Usborne first reading series. It was retold by Mairi Mackinnon and illustrated
by Daniel Howarth.
Hurry Hare loves running – and he loves
talking about it too. When he suggests a race, nobody expects Tom Tortoise to
take up the challenge. Does Tom really think he can beat the fastest hare in
history?
The story has a "moral". The moral of the story about the hare and the tortoise is: Slow and steady wins the race. I like the tortoise because he is hardworker and he doesn't give up easily. If you are interested, please read it. I recommend it.
